WE PRACTICE WHAT WE PREACH VIII
The eighth annual exhibition of artwork
by
Nipissing University Faculty of
Education students, staff and faculty
January 10th - 31st, 2009
Opening Reception 12 - 4pm

“We Practice What We Preach” is an annual
exhibition at the White Water Gallery of works by Nipissing
University Faculty of Education students, support staff and faculty.
Visual arts exhibitions form one of the most exciting and
highly-motivating aspects of any visual arts program. Likewise, in
visual arts pre-service teacher education, the participation of
teacher-candidates in a self-organized, community-based (gallery)
art exhibition provides a rich opportunity for new learning.
Knowledge of, and direct experience in, the visual arts exhibition
process are elements which are surprisingly lacking in many
undergraduate visual arts degree programs. Student-organized
exhibitions hold the potential to greatly enhance the visual arts
school curriculum by providing real life experience and insight into
professional art.
The White Water Gallery and Nipissing
University’s Faculty of Education students, support staff and
faculty invite you to come and take part in this unique educational
experience, and see that we do indeed practice what we preach.
